ifa presents the iPad versionThe times of simple “drop-down” lists and menus are finally over: State-of-the-art EMR systems are template driven and much more user friendly. With the advanced SmartScreen technology the ifa EMR for eye care is now available with a complete iPad version. In many ophthalmic offices and clinics the iPad can take the place of desktop PCs and laptops for viewing test results and for coordinating the clinical pathways of patients (eye care workflow management). Based on a terminal server concept, the iPad is used wireless and allows doctors and staff to gain access to their computers from anywhere in the office or clinic and also from outside. ![]() The ifa team will present the ifa4iPad version at the XXVIII Congress of the ESCRS in Paris (September 3-7, booth no. 349) and the AAO Congress in Chicago (October 16-19, booth no. 3900). The ifa EMR system can provide an electronic copy of patient information automatically online no later than 96 hours after the data is available to an eligible professional. The system can be interfaced directly with a patient portal (ECPP = Eye Care Patient Portal) and meets the requirements for stimulus funding. At the ASCRS meeting in Boston, the ifa team is introducing the first fully integrated patient portal in cooperation with e-mediad (the exclusive ifa partner for web portal projects). For more information on the patient portal, please read the following presentation. Stimulus certification requirements published.
